UP TO 120 local and international exhibitors have expressed interest to participate in this year’s Malawi International Tourism Exposition (MITE).
Dubbed ‘Takulandirani’ the event is to be staged from the 26th to the 28th of April and it has reportedly attracted over 50 potential buyers.
Chief Tourism Officer, Sarah Njanji, attributed the high interest to widespread promotion by the Department of Tourism on local and international media platforms.
It conducted regional workshops in Mzuzu, Lilongwe, Mangochi and Blantyre in February with the aim of preparing local exhibitors.
In 2017, Malawi hosted its first ever International Tourism Expo, which received wide support from local and international tour operators.
Malawi is listed among the top 10 tourism destinations in the world.
