THE 2018-2019 budget deliberations are now officially open with President Peter Mutharika addressing the nation.
Issues on corruption, freedom of expression, construction development, information technology, and environment were among those discussed in the address.
Mutharika did not distance himself from the leaders who have failed Malawians since democracy and prompted a need for change from politicians.
However when he was talking about combating corruption in the country, there was disorder as Members of Parliament started chanting, a development that made the speaker to order some MPs out of the house.
As they were leaving the building, some DPP cadets assaulted a Times Media Group camera person who was taking pictures. The cadets got angry with that and demanded him to delete the pictures, which he refused. More to come.
