SCORES of young people this morning gathered at the entrance of presidential villas in Lilongwe where they chanted songs of praise for Vice President Saulos Chilima.
Some of the youth were dressed in regalia of the rulling Democratic Progressive Party, DPP.
Their move comes amid an ongoing leadership debate on who, between Chilima and president Mutharika, is to lead the DPP in the 2019 tripartite elections.
Chilima was at the villas to officiate the opening ceremony of an NBS Auto-Teller Machine.
Constructed by the Chinese government, the presidential villas are located less than a kilometer away from the main entrance to the Kamuzu Palace, the office residence of President Mutharika.
