LORRIES loaded with youth wearing DPP regalia have this morning been seen heading to Sanjika palace in Blantyre where the cadets are expected to meet President Peter Mutharika.
It is very much likely that the young people are going to endorse the 79-year-old as the presidential candidate of the rulling Democratic Progressive Party in the 2019 tripartite elections.
They are allegedly members of the DPP youth wing drawn from the southern and eastern regions.
This follows a party which the President Mutharika hosted on Sunday for a cross section of DPP youth drawn from various public and private colleges from the south.
The party has attracted huge public anger after it transpired that many of the students drunk to death despite being under the legal age of 18.
Critics have also condemned Mutharika for giving K20, 000 to each of the students as a kickback. The state house allegedly spent over K20 million to host the young people on Sunday.
