DPP should resolve their issues: Mkhutche
POLITICAL Analysts have commended the talks in the Democratic Progressive Party, DPP, over its internal wrangles.
Different views have rocked the ruling DPP on who should be the party’s torch bearer in next year’s election between President Peter Mutharika and Vice President Saulos Chilima.
The two groups met at Sanjika palace in Blantyre to solve the problem but the meeting proved futile as the Chilima camp denied to give up.
Reacting to the development, one of the country’s political scientists, Wonderful Mkhutche, have tipped the party to be organized since disputes are a recipe to election disaster.
Mkhutche explained the significance of clearing the wrangles emphasizing that failure to do so can cost them losing 2019 elections.
He has since warned the party to agree on who should be presidential candidate stressing that failure to do so may give main opposition Malawi Congress party, MCP, an opportunity to take over government.
