Benjamin: Death was due to head injuries.

POLICE in Chikwawa are looking for a man who is suspected to have killed his twelve-year-old nephew.

According to Chikwawa Police publicist Constable Foster Benjamin, It is alleged that the boy, Harry Chimphaka went to his uncle’s house on Saturday to visit his playmates.

The visit, however, did not please the uncle since he had already banned the boy from visiting the house because of his alleged troublesome character.

The suspect, Thomas Harry, then dragged the nephew into his house and started beating him up with a metal object, leaving him seriously injured on the head and arm.

The Standard five pupil struggled to get out and collapsed before being taken to his parents’ home within the neighborhood.

He was later rushed to St. Montfort Mission Hospital where he was admitted and died Sunday afternoon.

Postmortem results from Chikwawa District Hospital showed that the death was due to severe head injuries.

Meanwhile, police have intensified a search for Harry and, if arrested, he will be charged with murder.
