People with albinism in Africa continue to face abuses

MALAWI will join the rest of the world in observing the International Albinism Awareness Day on Wednesday, June 13,  which is aimed at rallying for action to end human rights violations of people with albinism.

The day, which will be observed under the theme Shining Our Light to the World, comes at a time when Malawi is one of the most affected countries in registering shocking attacks on people with albinism.

Different organisations including The Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa and Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa are stressing on the awareness campaign.
