MULTICHOICE is covering the 2018 FIFA World Cup through a multi-platform of traditional television, on-the-go via DStv Now app and online at supersport.com.
The tournament, which will be showcased live on both Gotv and DStv, was complemented with the games’ media launch on Thursday, June 14 at Nthumbo stadium in Salima.
At the event, the company’s marketing and communications manager, Chimwemwe Nyirenda, told The Express that launching the tournament with the media personnel is one way of letting Malawian journalists know their important role.
Journalists from the southern and central regions played a football match between the two sides in which it ended 4-3 in favour of the southern side.
Chancy Gondwe, who was appointed coach for the southern region journalists, pointed out that media launch was a very good idea and commended Multichoice Malawi for the event.
He articulated that such events strengthen relationships between the media and corporate world.
The launch was spiced up with dances and a live beam of the
opening match of the tournament between Russia and Saudi Arabia which ended 5-0 in favour of the host nation, Russia.
All 64 matches of the Fifa 2018 World Cup are available on all DSTV packages as well as GOtv Max and Plus packages, while GOtv Value customers will be able to view a significant number of games.
Multichoice has stressed that regular updates on the 2018 fifa world cup will be available on the popular Blitz channel.
The tournament will run up to July 15, 2018.
