Nomads are battling in the TNM Super league
IN an effort to minimize financial woes, the embattled TNM Super league defending champions, Be Forward Wanderers, have announced plans to introduce bottled water called ‘Aqua Noma’.
The water will be sold out to the public to earn income that will be forwarded to the team’s account to support the Blantyre based team’s operations.
“We have embarked on an SMS promotion and soon we will be introducing bottled water called Aqua Noma to the public in conjunction with Bowler Beverages,” reads part of the statement which has been released by the team.
The statement which has been signed by the Nomads’ chairperson, Gift Mkandawire and its treasurer, Robert Mbedza, has further indicated that the team has only K14 million meant for operations for the whole year.
The team got K153 million as its yearly sponsorship of which K139 million will be spent on wage bill.
The Wanderers are currently being sponsored by second hand cars seller, Be Forward Limited.
Despite having won the 2017 TNM Super league cup, the team is going through poor performance.
The Nomads are out of the Airtel Top 8 and are among the bottom ranking teams on the super league table.
