National Bank of Malawi, NBM, has refuted social media claims that its MO626 Online Banking system has been hacked.
The bank has assured its customers that the system and other systems are working in perfect condition.
A statement released by NBM has shown that for customers to be safe from scammers they should make sure they have their phones on at all times.
Customers are also being advised to keep a close eye to their phones and observe if their phones lose network as the scammers might be swapping the customers’ sim cards with the aim to hijack and take over control of the customer’s communication.
The bank has also advised customers to never give personal information to anyone over the phone or any other non-face to face medium.
