THE UNITED Democratic Front, UDF, will hold its elective convention on 1 August ahead of the 2019 tripartite elections.
The national indaba will take place at COMESA hall in the commercial city, Blantyre.
A radio advert says the meeting will give chance to party members to elect leaders who will advance the UDF’s agenda in the next five years.
Some of the key positions that will be contested are president of the party, three vice presidents, treasure, publicity secretary and campaign director.
Incumbent leader Atupele Muluzi is facing competition from Lucius Banda for the seat of presidential candidate.
As the day for elections approaches, some political parties have already held their conventions while some are preparing for the same.ly
The UDF convention will precede DPP’s elective assembly to be held next month at the same venue.
Malawi Congress Party and Alliance for Democracy already held their conventions.
